Charles F. "Chuck" Springer, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, in Uniontown Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Uniontown. Mr. Springer was born Sept. 19, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Charles and Manila Painter Springer. Mr. Springer was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Connellsville. He was a 1952 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Chuck was a veteran of the Korean War era, having served in the Marine Corps. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3368 and the Mt. Pleasant Fireman's Club. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Steelers fan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kay Shaw Springer; his sister, Sally (John) Ahrens; his furry friend, Gracie; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his twin sons, Scott Alan and Brian Keith Springer, in 1966; his daughter, Susan Kay Springer, in 1974; eight brothers; and four sisters. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday with his pastor, the Rev. Karen Martin, officiating. Private Inurnment will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Animal Friends of Youngwood or Wesley UMC in Connellsville.
