Dean Allen Zimmerman, 64, of Greensburg passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, unexpectedly at home. Born Nov. 8, 1956, he was the son of Richard ( Dick) and Nancy (Baker) Zimmerman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiance and best friend, Sherri A. Parry. Dean is also survived by children, Yenise (Neesi) Zimmerman, James Zimmerman and Carrie Kunzelman; grandchildren, Christopher Hurst and Ashley, Nicholas Hurst and partner, John Cruz, Jaydin, Audra, Ashley, Ava and Alexis; great- grandchildren, Wyatt and Diem; three siblings, Leslie Safadi and Riad, Mark Zimmerman and Lisa and Carrie Martz; stepchildren, Justin Parry and Andrea, Zachary Parry and Dawn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dean was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, having Roberto Clemente as his hero. He also enjoyed bowling and astronomy. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. Dean's funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Samuel Scheiderer officiating. Entombment will follow in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant (a public cemetery).
