Donald F. Jahoda, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021. Mr. Jahoda was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Ann (Jahoda) Zoracki and Aloyisius Zoracki. He was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School and worked at PPG Industries for over 38 years. Donald was a medic during the Korean War and was past Commander of the American Legion, Post 446, in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Jahoda was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, serving as an usher for many years. Mr. Jahoda was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beautiful and loving wife of over 50 years, Loretta (Stafira) Jahoda, who died in 2014. He is survived by his loving children, Kimberly Byers (Richard), of Rochester, N.Y., Donald Jahoda (Debbie), of Hubbard, Ohio, Shawn Jahoda, of Mt. Pleasant and Brian Jahoda, of Toledo, Ohio. Donald is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Philip Byers, Lindsay Byers, Jessica Byers, Ashley (Jahoda) Castner (Jacob) and a great-grandchild on the way. Family and friends are invited Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by his funeral Mass at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. Interment with full military honors accorded by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion, Post 446, for Donald will be held in Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
