Gladys S. Farmer Obituary
Gladys Sue (Bailes) Farmer, 71, of Uniontown, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in Alleghany General Hospital. She was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Uniontown. She was the daughter of the late James Baird Bailes and Anna (Jupina) Bailes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Bailes, Lawrence Bailes, Robert Bailes and William Bailes, and her sister, Frances Bryner. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and a graduate of North Union High School class of 1965. She received her bachelors and masters degree from California University of PA, she was a retired school teacher from the Laurel Highlands School District. Sue loved animals, especially her dogs, Shae and Hobo. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Edward Farmer Jr.; her daughter, Jessica Leigh Farmer; and grandson, Arian Lee Alston, of Pittsburgh; her two sisters, Edith Marie Clingan, of Hopwood, and Patricia A. Laskey White, of Uniontown; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, and until 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, the hour of the service, in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, with the Rev. Donald Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Friends of Westmoreland County, 216 Depot St., Youngwood, PA 15697.
