John D. Martin Obituary
John Denis Martin, 75, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, after a long battle with cancer and medical complications. John was born in Greensburg and was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Margaret Martin; and brothers, Thomas, Fred and Joel Martin. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen (Altman) Martin; his children, Jayson Martin and wife Tanya (Siard), Kevin Martin and wife Kristie (Daily), Maggie Martin (Notto) and Joe Notto; and his five grandchildren, Tyler, Abbi, Katie-Lynn, Kalvin and Cullen. John was a veteran of the Army Reserves and earned the sharpshooter designation. He attended Robert Morris College where he studied accounting. During his professional career, John was a credit and collections manager for more than 40 years. When his children were small, he enjoyed coaching Little League and softball. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing with his children and especially his brother-in-law, Kevin P. Altman, who also precedes him in death. John had always enjoyed woodworking and had developed a great love for electronics after his retirement in 2008 from Three Rivers Marine and Rail Terminals. He dearly loved his five grandchildren and spending time with them.
