John J. Cordera, 76, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully Monday, May 3, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Oct. 20, 1944, in Jeannette, to the late Louis and Henrietta Rae (Pidutti) Cordera. John has been a resident of Jeannette all his life. He was a 1962 graduate of Jeannette High School. Prior to retiring, John was employed as a factory worker by Volkswagen and General Tire. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and his precious furbabies. John will be greatly missed by his beloved family and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dolores (Shipkosky) Cordera; children, Deborah, of Jeannette, Kevin (Elizabeth), of Irwin, John, of Pittsburgh, and Brian (Amber), of Virginia. He was the very proud grandfather of Myka, Elijah, Isaiah, Sofia, Aneilleo and Aurelia, all of whom will especially miss him. He will also be missed by his dog, Jack. John is joining four furbabies who have preceded him in death. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. Respecting the family's wishes, services and entombment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to Clelian Heights, 135 Clelian Heights Lane, Greensburg, PA, 15601. Please write "John Cordera" on check memo line.
