Kim Kerr Obituary
Kim Kerr, 59, of Rayburn Township, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. The daughter of the late Kenneth and Yetta Lindenberg, of Saltsburg, she is survived by her siblings, Dale (Christine) Lindenberg, Kipp (Mary) Lindenberg and Edna (Tom) Pospisil. Kim was the widow of Jeffrey Kerr and the longtime partner of Jerry Hartman. She was a loving mother to Anthony (Sara) Zana and Kristen Kerr, as well as a devoted grandmother to Kristen's sons, Aaron, Caleb and Brendon. She loved nothing more than to be in nature and to grow living things. Everything flourished under her care, and her passion could be seen everywhere she went: delicate and detailed fairy gardens were tucked unexpectedly into the nooks and crannies of her yard, waiting to be discovered, as gorgeous impatiens bloomed in the garden where her grandchildren loved to play. She found "her garden" everywhere she went, sometimes disappearing at family gatherings to return with a bag full of weeds and ands covered in dirt. When not digging in her garden, she channeled her passion for nature into her working as the office manager of Kutchko Nursery, helping to seed plants around the state. Kim spent her time immersed in scary novels (Stephen King was her favorite). and completing crossword puzzles. She also made the most perfect devilled eggs, which are worth mentioning here because they were absolutely heavenly. Those who knew her knew that she was immensely compassionate, accepting and resilient. She could find humor in any situation, with a dry wit and a penchant for sarcasm. Those who did not know her need only meet her friends and family to understand the depth of her kindness, stubbornness and goodness that she passed along to those she loved.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no formal viewing. Instead, the family will host a private gathering Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. Friends and family members are more than welcome to attend. Please contact 724-209-8155 for details and to RSVP. Arrangements are entrusted to the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, Ford City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in her honor. To send an online condolence, please visit www.welchfh.com.
