Michael P. Wattay, 76, of Irwin, Hempfield Township, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at William Penn Care Center, Jeannette. He was born July 11, 1942, in Pittsburgh to the late Michael and Mary (Jakub) Wattay. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an auto technician for Kenny Ross Chevy. He was a member of St. Agnes Church in North Huntingdon. He was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served in the Marine Corps. Michael loved to read and enjoyed gardening. Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Irene (Howell) Wattay. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. Parting prayers will be held at 9:20 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), 100 Billott Ave., North Huntingdon, PA 15642.
