Regina F. Hayes Obituary
Regina F. Ulery Hayes, 80, of Ligonier, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019. She was born July 15, 1938, in Owensdale, Pa., a daughter of the late Alva E. and Hattie Irene (Brown) Ulery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Geraldine; an infant brother, William; and brothers, Gerald and Glenn. Regina was a member of Ligonier First Church of the Brethren, where she previously served as a deaconess, member of the Woman's Fellowship, Flower and Decorating Committee, and Youth Fellowship Leader. Regina was a member of the Red Hats Society, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Valley Girls Investment Club, and a longtime member of the Oak Grove Art Club. She enjoyed painting and creating a variety of crafts. She was the proud mother of four children and after they were raised, she worked alongside her husband, Fred, at the former Hayes Pharmacy in Ligonier. Regina is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred; four children, Sherry (Patrick) Laughrey, of High Point, N.C., Laurene (Richard) Campbell, of Wake Forest, N.C., David (Heather) Hayes, of Richmond, Va., and Donald (Christine) Hayes, of Milford Pa.; six loving grandchildren, Kalene Campbell, Nathaniel Hayes, Jacob Campbell, Colin Hayes, Carrington Hayes and David William Hayes Jr; a sister, Mabel Hesson; and brother, Dale (Joyce) Ulery; sister-in-law, Ruby Ulery; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church St., Ligonier. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Eric Feather officiating. Interment will follow in Ulery Cemetery, White, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Brethren, 405 Route 271, Ligonier PA 15658 or to Bethlen Communities and Hospice, 210 W. Church St., Ligonier, PA 15658.
