Stanley J. "Daddy Hack" Deren Sr., 88, of Slickville, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at home. He was born Nov. 29, 1932, in Slickville, to the late Tony and Mary (Tomashosky) Deren. Stanley was a proud union construction member since 1962 of the Laborers Local 373. He loved to hunt and work in his woodshop and will always be remembered for his swings and canes. He was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Slickville, and Slickville Sportsmen's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Stanley "Hack" Deren Jr. and Michael Deren; a daughter, Linda Deren; and a brother, John Deren. He is survived by a son, Anthony Deren, of Saltsburg; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Deren, of Saltsburg. He was the loving grandfather of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Anna (Hunch) Tranchine; several nieces and nephews; and his two best friends, Maggie and Elliot, his loving furbabies. Funeral arrangements will be private.
