Thelma L. Butler Morrison, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Morrison was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Brown County, Ind., the daughter of the late Ernest and Zura Stark Butler. Thelma enjoyed writing poems and spending hours reading her Bible. She is survived by her loving family: her children, Earl W. (Tina) Morrison, of Scottdale, and Judy (Stanley) Gross, of Mt. Pleasant; her beloved grandchildren, Misty (James) Piper, Amy (Shawn) Marn and Emily Morrison; and by her great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jacob Piper and Owen and Clarabelle Marn. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Morrison, in 2002; by her daughter, Darla Morrison, in 1997; and by numerous brothers and sisters. Thelma was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Honoring Thelma's wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. Private funeral services will be held with her immediate family attending. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME. The family wishes to extend a grateful thank you to Excela Health Home Care and Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Excela Hospice or to your own church in memory of Thelma L. Morrison.
