Thomas L. Vanetta Obituary
Thomas Lee "Painter" Vanetta, 72, of Catalina, Ariz., formerly of Blairsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at his home in Pima County, Arizona. He was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Latrobe, son of Thomas W. Vanetta and Ivy Jean (Palmer) Vanetta. Tommy served as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the auto industry as a painter and mechanic. He was a member of the Seeker's Motorcycle Club. Survivors include his brother, Ronald Vanetta and wife, Michele, of Jeanette; sister, Kay Dejongh and husband, Edgar, of Indiana, Pa.; nephews John T. Vukman and Heidi Anderson, of Josephine, Pa., Brian Vanetta, of Ligonier, Michael Vanetta, of Greensburg, and Jamison Halldin, of Marion Center; niece, Alicia Altman and husband, Kody, of Elderton; and friend, Michele Boone, of Catalina, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Vanetta; mother, Ivy Jean (Palmer) Vanetta; wife, Laurie Ann Vanetta, in 2009; and brother, David C. Vanetta, in 1994.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at the JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., Blairsville. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Dan Cunkelman will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Blairsville.
