Flora Lois (Maust) McIntire, 86, of Longmont, Colo., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Longmont United Hospital. Flora was born April 11, 1921, in Willard, Colo., a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Jane (Cutrell) Maust. She was raised in Scottdale and later moved to LaJunta, Colo., where she earned a nursing degree from the Mennonite School of Nursing. She was a nurse in Mt. Pleasant and Connellsville, as well as in La Junta. Flora married the Rev. Victor V. McIntire on Nov. 4, 1951, in La Junta. Together, they raised four sons while they pastored several Nazarene churches in Colorado, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota and Maine. During this time, Mrs. McIntire continued working as a nurse. In 1980, the McIntires returned to Longmont where Rev. McIntire retired and Mrs. McIntire worked at Longmont United Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1994. Flora loved nursing and ministering to others, she was a caregiver all of her life. She believed in prayer and always prayed for the needs of other people. Her husband, four brothers and two sisters preceded Mrs. McIntire in death. She is survived by her sister, Laura Eberharter, of Scottdale; her four sons and their wives, Dr. Larry and Donna McIntire, of Joplin, Mo., Vernon and Nieves McIntire, of Denver, Colo., Dr. Phil and Kate McIntire, of Kirksville, Mo., and Tim and Jan McIntire, of Longmont; 10 grandchildren, Kent, Susan, Eric, Andrea, Selina, Brenna, Michael, Ashlie, Tevan and Genevieve; and six great-grandchildren, Klinton, Kaleb, Konner, Trenton, Lauren and Hallie. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at HOWE MORTUARY INC., Longmont. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Longmont Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Roger D. Freels officiating. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to The Jesus Film Project, c/o Longmont Church of the Nazarene, 2111 Mt. View Avenue, Longmont, CO 80501.
