Charles Blasko

Charles Blasko, 88, of Charleroi, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at UPMC, Oakland. Born Nov. 4, 1921, in Charleroi, he was a son of Joseph and Mary Sima Blasko. A World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corp., he had retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport plant. Mr. Blasko was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Milan and Diane Blasko, of Belle Vernon, and Charles Jr. and Darla Blasko, of Howell, N.J.; a sister Beatrice Babich, of Fayette City; two grandchildren, Jamelle and Trisha Blasko; and a great-grandson, Blake Jensen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Pacak Blasko; two brothers, Milan and Robert Blasko; and a sister, Mary Rutsky. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
