Carol L. (Stauffer) Schall, 76, of Washington Township, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 14, 1944, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Harold Roy Stauffer and Trusie (Kistler) Stauffer. Carol was a 1962 graduate of Washington Township High School. She was a member and was employed by Poke Run Presbyterian Church, where she worked as the secretary, and was a clerk of session. Carol was a member of the Apollo OES No. 125. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, going to the beach and all things nautical. Carol loved helping others, especially her daughter and grandchildren. She was the life of the party and liked having fun. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Schall, who passed away in 2002; and her brothers-in-law, John Racke and Don Hartman. Carol is survived her daughter, Joell C. (Aaron Coomer) Entwistle, of Avonmore; grandchildren, Stephanie P. Tobias, Sean J. Entwistle and Samuel M. Shoup, all of Avonmore; a great-grandson, Karsyn; sisters, Trusie Hartman, of Shelocta, and Florence Racke, of Apollo; brother, William (Dorothy) Stauffer, of Apollo; nieces and nephews; and her companion of the last six years, Robert "Bob" Ladd, of Westfield, Pa. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visitation is limited to 25 percent capacity, with the wearing of masks and social distancing. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Schaller officiating. Interment will be in Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Washington Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. If you decide to send flowers, please note that Carol didn't like carnations, butterflies or yellow roses. I remember Carol, a high school classmate, as sweet and friendly. She belonged to several clubs and definitely helped to make our small high school the special place it was. Rest In Peace Carol.
