Harold Paul Asay Jr., 86, of Natrona Heights, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Magnolia Place, Saxonburg. He was born April 12, 1935, in Creighton, East Deer Township, to the late Harold P. Asay Sr. and Dorothy C. (Norman) Asay DeJarnett. Harold lived most of his life in Natrona Heights and was a type setter for the Valley News Dispatch for 35 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. Harold was of the Presbyterian faith and a former member of Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh teams. He enjoyed taking care of his property and especially enjoyed his wife's home cooking, his family, children and grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Harold Paul (Gretchen) Asay III, of South Buffalo Township, and Barbara L. Ferguson, of Saxonburg; foster daughters, Marion Skrtic, of Coraopolis, and Melissa (Mike) Myers, of Brackenridge; grandchildren, Russell (Andrea) Asay, Kelly Asay, Matthew (Jennarose) Asay, Jamie (Steve) Watson and Justin (Shelby) Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Eli and Noah Asay, Kenna and Parker Watson and Link Ferguson; and foster grandchildren, Joey and Jayden Eckman. Also surviving is a brother, William C. (Nancy) Asay, of Cranberry Township. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Mae (Nyga) Asay, in 2011; and three brothers, Edwin, Robert and Denis Asay. Visitation is from 2 until the time of service at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 347 E. 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
