Lucy C. Skura Obituary
Lucy C. (Arduino) Skura, 94, of West Leechburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at West Haven Personal Care Home in Washington Township. A daughter of the late Giacomo Arduino and Mary (Perona) Arudino, she was born Dec. 26, 1924, in Vandergrift. Lucy was a 1942 graduate of Vandergrift High School. She had been employed as a clerk with Leechburg Pharmacy for 17 years before retiring in 1996. Lucy was a former member of St. Martha Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg and member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township as well as the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. Survivors include her son, Glenn Skura (Roseann), of Leechburg; her daughter, Anita Fotheringham, of Ford City; two grandchildren, Amanda Skura and Sam Fotheringham; and a great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Skura, in 1988; six brothers, Antonio, Robert, Frank, John, Joseph and Pete Arduino; and four sisters, Angeline "Lillian" Gallucci, Marie Iagnemmo, Julia Zanolli and Teressa Bellon.
There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to the CLAWSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Leechburg Food Bank, c/o Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St., Leechburg, PA 15656. Condolences to the Skura family may be offered at www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.
