Minnie Louise Pryor, 88, of Arnold, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. She was born Nov. 12, 1929, in Marion, Ala., to the late Bryant and Bertha Dobynes Melton. At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined Poplar Grove Baptist Church of Selma, Ala. Mrs. Pryor later became a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of New Kensington. She was a licensed beautician and enjoyed sewing, quilting, dress making, barbecuing, baking and traveling. She also enjoyed watching her athletic children and grandchildren. She truly LOVED her family. Survivors include her children, David (Traci) Pryor, Benjamin Pryor, Terry (Sunshine) Pryor and Tonya (Joel) Pryor-Norman; siblings, the Rev. Bryant (Emma Jean) Melton Jr., of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Carolyn (Jerome) Goode, of Beaufort, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Mariam Melton, of Birmingham, Ala., and Dorothy Melton, of Atlanta, Ga.; and uncle, Preston Dobynes, of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben J. Pryor; children, Bertha Mae Pryor, Gosby "Goose" Pryor and Martha Jean Pryor; siblings, Willie Melton, David Melton, Millie Ford, Jonathon Melton and Sarah Walker; and a sister in infancy, Maudie Melton.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Asa W. Roberts Way, New Kensington. Anyone attending the service is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
