Norman T. Roscher Obituary
Norman T. Roscher, 82, of Bell Township, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, in AHN-Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Born Nov. 18, 1936, in Manor, he was a son of the late Ignatius and Elizabeth (Zeckar) Roscher. Norman was a 1954 graduate of Jeannette High School, and proudly served our country with the Navy. He worked as a meat cutter and manager of the meat department at the Shop n' Save in Holiday Park in Plum, and most recently at Sprankle's in Vandergrift, where he was employed until the store closed Sept. 1, 2018. Norman was an excellent cook, and enjoyed working, gardening and socializing. He most loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ignatius Roscher, Marie Worthy, Henry Roscher, Dorothy Miller, Bertha Rowe and William, Joseph, and John Roscher. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice (Orr) "Sue" Roscher; sons, Joseph (Melissa Blanco) Roscher, of Chantilly, Va., and William (Bridget) Roscher, of Sarver; daughters, Karen (Brian) Stinson, of Latrobe, and Lori (Bill) Testa, of Saltsburg; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Roscher, of Traverse City, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, in the funeral home, followed by military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
