Robert J. Brim Obituary
Robert J. Brim, 80, of Erie, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at UPMC Hamot. Born Nov. 1, 1937, in Natrona, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Svitek) Brim. Robert was a graduate of Duquesne University with a B.S. in pharmacy. He was a pharmacist at Heyl Pharmacy, opened Brim Pharmacy, retired from Hamot Medical Center in 2001 and worked part time at the Erie VA hospital after retiring. He was a member of St. George Church, where he was actively involved in various ministries, and the Serra Club of Erie for Religious Vocations. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He was a dedicated reader of the Erie Times News and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanne Marie (Heyl) Brim, of Millcreek; five children, Amy Bogart (Dan), of North East, Martha Foust (Kevin), of Erie, Peggy Landers (Tim), of Columbus, Ohio, Linda Noble (Ben), of Erie, and Robert H. Brim (Jamie), of Erie; 14 grandchildren, Jessica Keith (Brandon), Sean and Ashley Bogart, Kristen, Paul, and Anna Foust, Joseph and Brian Landers, Noah, Caleb, and Catherine Noble, R.J., Jack, and Henry Brim; five great-grandchildren, Amariya, Domani, A'leynah, Logan, and Hadley; a sister, Maria Hager (Patrick), of Arcade, N.Y.; a childhood friend, Bernard Nowicki (Patty), of Natrona Heights; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Nielsen (Robert), of Pinehurst, N.C., and Cathy Johnson, of Mechanicsburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends are invited to call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at BRUGGER FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, 1595 W. 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd., in Erie, and may attend prayers at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed at 11 a.m. by a funeral Mass at St. George Church. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
