Shirley R. Rishel, 87, of the Kepple Hill section of Parks Township, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born July 29, 1933, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Bingham Hays. Shirley had been employed by Alltel in Kittanning as an office manager in the accounting department. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Parks Township, she was a avid reader, enjoyed knitting and trips to Disney World and she had been active with the "51 Club" and working with her high school class reunion committee. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Rymut, of Old Saybrook, Conn.; her son, David Rishel, of Kepple Hill; two grandchildren, Justin Rishel and Angela Geltz; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kolten and Nicholas Geltz; and her sister, Elizabeth Uhing, of Kepple Hill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rishel, in 1999. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11a.m. in the DUNMIREKERR & ROWE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift.
