Stephen K. Zahumensky Obituary
Stephen K. "Kenny" Zahumensky, 78, of Holiday, Fla.,, died Friday, May 10, 2019, in Hospice in Tarpon Springs, Fla. He had been ill for several months. Born Dec. 8, 1940, in North Vandergrift, he was the son of the late Stephen F. and Mary T. (Hudek) Zahumensky. Steve was raised in the North Vandergrift section of Parks Township. Steve was a 1958 graduate of Vandergrift High School. He served in the Air Force. He was employed by various life insurance firms in management and regional vice president positions and earned his CLU. Steve enjoyed golfing, camping and boating. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Ellida Zahumensky; sons, Alan P. (Lauri) Zahumensky, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Daniel L. (Shannon) Zahumensky, of Poulsbo, Wash.; stepson, John (Yanni) Correll, of Florida; six granddaughters, Olivia, Caroline, Mary, Lauren, Megan and Kristin; step-grandson, John Michael Correll, of Florida, and great-grandson, Samuel Correll; two brothers, James M. (Robin) Zahumensky, of Troy, Ohio, and Mark A. (Bernadette) Zahumensky, of Delmont, Pa., nephew/Godson, Christopher D. (Andrea) Zahumensky, of Louisville, Ky.; nieces, Jennifer R. Denson, of West Milton, Ohio, Rachel J. (Nate) Wilson, of Charlottesville, Va., and Jillian D. Zahumensky, of Columbus, Ohio; and four great-nieces and two great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Stephen T. Zahumensky, and a brother, John D. (Jack) Zahumensky.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at THOMAS B. DOBIES FUNERAL HOME, 701 E. Tarpon Ave., Tarpon Springs, FL 34689, 727-942-0515. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. next door at St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church, 715 E. Orange St., Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.
