Walter L. Rishel Obituary
Walter Lester Rishel, 74, of Kittanning Township, met his Lord and Savior Monday, July 9, 2018, at AG Hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1943, in Apollo, to the late Walter B. and Gladys J. (Helman) Rishel. He entered the Marines after high school and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired from ATI Vandergrift plant in 2003. He enjoyed camping and vacationing with his family, working at church in many capacities, teaching, fixing things, working with the youth and the nursery, as well as going on mission trips. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Tom Rishel. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bernice Eldridge Rishel; a daughter, Janice Lineaweaver Pooley and Robert, of Vandergrift; a son, Michael Rishel, of Spring Church; five grandchildren, Emily, Jacob and Amber Lineaweaver, of Palmyra, Megan Pooley and Bella Rishel; sisters, Judy Erdley Painter and Dan, Carol Sirwell, Brenda Palmo and Glenna Battick Campbell Shank and Terry; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and sisters-in-law, Judy Sell Rishel and Marvel Eldridge Sheasley.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at New Life Center Assembly of God, Ford City. Service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at New Life Center Assembly of God, with Pastor Art Traister and Pastor Craig Riggle.
Family requests donations be made to the New Life Center Missions, 414 Ninth St., Ford City.
