William J. Reilly

1934 - 2018

William Missonellie James "Bill" Reilly, 83, of Spring Church, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, at Scenery Hill Manor, Indiana, Pa. Born April 7, 1934, in Paterson, N.J., he was the son of the late James and Mary Sabina (Mooney) Reilly. Bill lived in Spring Church for the last 13 years. He served our country with the Air Force during the Korean War. Bill was a truck driver for Pacific Motor Trucking in California and was also an ordained minister, pastoring a Pentecostal Church in Belle Glade, Fla., for several years. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post No. 114 in Vandergrift, and a social member of the VFW. He attended North Apollo Church of God. Bill loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing and playing Texas Hold 'em poker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Gray) Reilly, in 1996; a son, Patrick Reilly; and a brother, Sen. Terry Reilly. Bill is survived by his sons, David C. (Brian) Reilly-Oberneder, of Johnstown, William T. "Tom" Reilly, of North Apollo, Michael J. (Jo Ann) Reilly, of Orchard Hills, Shawn R. (Karen) Reilly, of North Apollo, Joseph W. (Brenda) Reilly, of Spring Church, Kimberly L. (Jerome) Smith, of Apollo, and Larry Thomas Hall Jr., of East Vandergrift; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Patrick (Carolin) Reilly, Michael (Madelyn) Reilly, and Francee (Phil) Batt, all of Boise, Idaho; cousin, Charlie Moran, of Orlando, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens Ave., Apollo, where services will follow at 8 p.m., with Pastor Robert Shallenberger officiating. Private burial will take place in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
