LAURENCE DOWNEY Obituary

Laurence "Larry" Downey Passed peacefully on the afternoon of May 3, 2013 with his family by his side after a courageous 15 month battle with leukemia. Larry was born in Bozeman Montana, October 20, 1934 to Laurence and Annie Downey. He graduated from Franklin High School and Central Washington College where he met his wife, Oma. After college, he entered the Air Force as a pilot retiring 20 years later and continued his aviation career for another 20 years. He is survived by wife Oma; daughter Robin (Tim) Smith, Laurie Kraenzler; grandchildren Andy (Bri'Anna) Smith, Roger (Kristina) Smith, Randi Kraenzler, Ty Kraenzler; great grandchildren Evan and Matilde Smith; sister Carol (Al) Carder; as well as many nieces and nephews. We all love him; he was the greatest Pappy ever and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to JBLM's Fisher House or a charity of your choice. Visitation Mon, May 13th from 2-7 PM at Fir Lane Funeral Home. Services are at 10 AM Tues, May 14th at Fir Lane; interment at 2:15 Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA. Fir Lane Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
