Beverly Daune MacDonald
June 3, 1933 - May 20, 2021
Sacramento, California - Longtime Tacoma resident and family matriarch, Beverly (Shotwell), peacefully passed into Jesus tender care May 20, 2021. Present were her loving companion, John DeWeese and one of her beloved children. Born in Tacoma, Washington, June 3, 1933, to J. Donald and Lillian Shotwell, spent most of her life and regarded as home the Tacoma area. She eventually split time with Tacoma in both Arizona and California. She is survived by sister Claire (Don) Egge, brother Jonathan Shotwell, sons Jack (Cheryl) Day, Richard (Julie) Day, daughter Lorri Wick, son Jeff (Lisa) Day, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by step-sons Dean (Rosemary) and Brian (Nicci) Randall with 6 more grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bev graduated from Stadium High School in 1951 and married soon after graduation. She spent the child rearing years as a stay at home mom and volunteered at the YWCA swimming program assisting disabled children. She also enjoyed her involvements in the Daughters of the Nile, JR League of Tacoma and Lillian Shotwell Orthopedic Guild. With all her children being athletes, she relished attending all of their sporting events. With children grown, she engaged in her cherished career as a travel agent with a cruising specialty. She aptly earned the name Cruise Queen while traveling all over the world often leading groups on their dream vacations. Upon retirement, she still loved traveling and entertaining, often at the Tacoma Yacht Club. Bev was often the life of the party as well as the organizer for any gatherings. She was preceded in death by her brother Donnie and husbands Jack Day, Chuck Randall and Ronald MacDonald. She will be sorely missed by family and dear friends as such a giving, generous, caring person and wonderful Mother.

Beverly was extremely popular at Mason Jr. High School and Stadium High School School, which I attended with her. She may have come from a well to do family, but she never flaunted it. I will miss seeing her and considered her a good friend.
