Our extensive family is left with a big void with the loss of Elvera. In her 85 years she touched so many lives in such a positive way. I'm so thankful she touched mine.

The first time I met Elvera, Bob had brought me over in his Avalanche. Dennis and Doug had stopped by and Doug brought Ryan with him. Ryan was 13 at the time. He said to Bob about his truck, "Uncle Bob, you're the bomb!" Which Bob responded, "Do you want to go for a ride?" They raced out of mom's house leaving me there. I hadn't even met them before and there I was alone with two of Bob's brothers and his mother and Bill. Then Greg showed up and I was so nervous that I began to look around the house for something to talk about and I spotted these beautiful paintings of flowers in vases. I said, "Those paintings are beautiful." Mom replied, "I painted those." I said, "You did?" Which mom responded "No!" And she laughed! She knew I was nervous and her joke broke the ice. We fell in love with each other that day. I'll miss my other mother terribly. She welcomed me into her family and held me there with her heart.
Forever mom. -Susi

Our beautiful mother, Elvera Mantifel.

I have so many great memories of you while growing up. The house on McBride, the apartment on Huson. Doug and I climbing trees, and falling out of them, of riding bikes, and crashing them. And you always there with a smile and peanut butter and banana sandwich. You've always been a source of inspiration for me, and pride in my family. I love you so much Waya, and will miss you deeply. Your favorite nephew, John(ny).
