Elwood "Woody" Thorsen Budil March 26th, 1938 July 31st, 2018 Elwood "Woody" Thorsen Budil, of Tacoma, WA, passed in the early morning of July 31, 2018, at Tacoma General, surrounded by family. Elwood is survived by his wife Betty (Beador) Budil, their daughter Cyntha (Gary) Glidden of University Place, WA, son Jeffrey (Kathy) Budil of Portland, OR, his seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Bernadine Shanks. He was preceded in death by his son Kristoffer Budil of University Place, WA; his sister Marlene Smith, and his parents Elwood and Neta Budil, all of Tacoma, WA. Elwood was a proud graduate from Stadium High School in 1956. He enjoyed attending his high school reunions, and sadly missed what would've been his 60th reunion last month. Woody and Betty owned Budil's Flowers on 6th Ave. until its close in 1996. During the last decade Woody struggled with CIDP, a rare neurological disorder. Woody will be remembered as an inviting storyteller, avid collector of historical artifacts, and loving husband Dad Papa Great-Papa and to his dogs and their unwavering companionship.
