Tacoma, Washington - Bob was born in Tacoma on October 19, 1935 to Leonard and Lucile Barfoot, and passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021.
Bob's family meant everything to him. Over the years there were many fishing, camping, and boating adventures. The kids learned to fish at age 3, becoming great fishing buddies for their dad.
He was proud of his 33 years at Martinac Shipbuilding, starting out pushing broom. Later advancing to welder and foreman. In connection with his boat building career, he served on the apprenticeship board and represented his coworkers as the Boilermakers union representative.
Bob was also a skilled backyard mechanic, rescuing many a neighbor or family member. Joe Martinac, Sr.'s motor home could not venture out without Bob's tune-up.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Deanna; Daughter, Kathleen Studdie; Son, Peter Barfoot; Grandchildren, Patricia, Shelby, Rachael, and Valerie; Great Grandchildren, Ethan and Audrey; and Sister, Marion Jackson.
Please help use celebrate Bob's life by joining us at our home for a open house on June 26th from 2pm - 4pm. We will share some "Bob stories" and drink a beer in his honor.
