Shirley Tuttle
June 5, 2021
Tacoma, Washington - Shirley M. Tuttle passed away June 5, 2021, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, having lived most of her 90 years of life in Tacoma. Born Shirley Mae Hager, she attended Parkland School and Lincoln High School; in her girlhood horseback riding and fishing with her father were her favorite pastimes. Shirley married and became the mother of five children. Devoted care of her family and the ability to make ends meet through tough times were her hallmark.
Shirley had a fondness for watching things grow--babies in the family and flowers in the garden--and had a special knack for adding a touch of beauty to the world around her. She was herself a beautiful woman and affectionately known as "Fancy Grandma" by one of her granddaughters. She loved to put on a pretty dress and, with a flower in her hair, go out for a night of dancing.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Tuttle, as well as her youngest child, David Deuel. She is survived by four children (Steve, Debbie, Diana, and Denise); ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
