NEZBALLA – Anna (Rakar), 95, Goldsboro, N.C., formerly of Lilly, went to her eternal rest Feb. 22, 2008, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with her family at her side. Born Aug. 12, 1912, in Houtzdale, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Fikis) Rakar. Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Nezballa; son, Andrew J. Nezballa Jr.; grandson, Russell Rollins; two great-grandchildren, Margaret and Scotty Boyle; brothers, Michael, George, John and Joseph; and sister, Margaret Durkay. Survived by daughter, Monica, and husband, James T. Rollins, Goldsboro, N.C.; son, Philip J., and wife, Janice Nezballa, Londonderry, N.H.; grandchildren, Christopher, and wife, Andrea Rollins, Graham, N.C.; Jeffrey, and wife, Monica Rollins, Gainesville, Fla.; Richard, and wife, Kathryn Rollins, Goldsboro, N.C.; Lisa Rollins, Houston; Douglas, and wife, Michelle, Washington, Pa.; Eric, and wife, Stephanie Rollins, Raleigh, N.C.; Nicole, and husband, Jeremy Gould, Wake Forest, N.C.; Kimberly, and husband, Michael Boyle, Hookset, N.H.; Mark Nezballa, Findley Lake, N.Y.; and Allison Nezballa, Manchester, N.H.; and 19 great-grandchildren. Anna lived in Lilly since the 1920s. She was a homemaker and loved her family, gardening, crocheting, cooking and her dogs. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly. She attended St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Goldsboro, N.C., while living there with her daughter and son-in-law. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly, where wake service will be held Monday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies chapel, Portage Street, Lilly, the Rev. Monsignor John R. Sasway, VF, celebrant. Committal, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lilly. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Durkay, 318 Harris St., Lilly, where they will be visiting. Arrangements were handled in Goldsboro, N.C., by Seymour Funeral Home.
