Ann Lillian Potter Stergis, 87, of 39 8 th Street, Pittsfield died at her home on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Born on May 3, 1928 In Providence, Rhode Island a daughter of the late Chester A. and Florence Bennett Potter. She was a graduate of Central High School in Providence and was also a graduate of the Pittsfield Vocational School of Practical Nursing in 1960. Ann was a LPN at Berkshire Medical Center since 1961 retiring in 2000 as supervisor of sterile processing. She was a member of Saint George Greek Orthodox Church and was a member and served as past president of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed flower gardening, golfing and her home. She had been a volunteer for Hospice Care in the Berkshires. She was the wife of George A. Stergis whom she married on March 14, 1948; he passed away February 22, 1992. Ann is survived by two sons, Drew B. Stergis and his wife Sharland of Gulf Port, Florida and Gary C. Stergis and his wife Judith of Peru, MA. Six grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew Boston, Joseph, Kayla and Matthew Stergis and Kelley Clifford. A great granddaughter, Chesney. A special daughter/friend, Kathy Semeno. She was predeceased by her companion, Edward Recchia. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church 73 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA celebrated by the Rev. Fr. John G. Maheras, Presbyter. Burial will follow in the Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton, MA. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in her memory may be made to Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in care of the funeral home.
