Anne L. Lightizer

Anne L. Lightizer Anne L. Lightizer, 80, of Peabody, MA formerly of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was born on January 29, 1935, daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Carter) Lightizer. Anne was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1952, followed by hairdressing school in Boston. She worked as a hairdresser for over 30 years and later was an assembler at Ark Les (formerly Tadco) in Gloucester. Anne had a great love for animals and volunteered at the Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, where she later became an active board member. She enjoyed gardening, water skiing and took art classes, which guided her interest towards painting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sisters, Janice Colvard of Huntsville, AL and Arline Hyde and her husband William of Dracut, MA; her nieces, Patricia LeBourdais and her husband Robert of Lowell, MA and Diane Smith and her husband Mark of Huntsville, AL; nephews, Jeffrey Hyde and his wife Jean of Middleton, MA, Frank Hyde of Boston and Keith Colvard and his wife Donna of Navarre, FL; great-nieces, Emily Hyde, Laura Colvard and Jennifer DeMarco; great-nephews, Brian and Stephen LeBourdais. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Lightizer. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Thursday, May 21, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. The burial will be held in Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester.
