Antonio Cimarusti Obituary

Published by Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home and Cremation Service on May 29, 2022.
Tony passed peacefully from this life and into God's hands on May 29, 2022. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Anita in 2010. He is survived by his children Joe Cimarusti, Angie Fuqua (Mark) and Linda Burton (Tom) and his 3 cherished grandchildren, Samantha Cimarusti, Joshua Fuqua and Nicholas Burton. He is also survived by his sister Rosina in Italy, and many other relatives here in the states and abroad. Tony was happiest being around his family and his friends. He was a professional soccer player in his early youth, was in the Italian Military, worked at Galli Produce in San Mateo for many years and then ran an Italian Restaurant for a few years before retiring. Papa Tony adored all his grandchildren and took great pride in them. After retiring he enjoyed cooking for the Knights of Columbus and for students at Serra High School, and of course cooking for his family and friends. He enjoyed lots of hobbies around the house, but it all came back to his family being the most important thing he cherished. We want to especially thank his devoted caregivers Charlie, Kelvin and Theresa who cared for him like family. Papa we will miss you and you will forever be in all our hearts. Keep-a-go, keep-a-go, and we will all be together again one day. Rosary will be held Friday, June 10th at 7:00 p.m. at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home in San Mateo. Mass will be held at St. Gregory's Church in San Mateo on Saturday, June 11th at 1:15 p.m. The family encourages memorial contributions be made to Mission Hospice, 66 Bovet Road, Suite 100, San Mateo, CA 94402.

Tony was a lucky man to feel how much he was loved. His picture captures his smile and the gleam in his eyes. Don and I are out of town so unfortunately will miss his celebration of life but our thoughts are with you all.
