She was my friend and my sister. We grew up together and reconnected in the 80s while taking Paralegal courses. Carolyn remembered me before I remembered her; she was a year older and in my brother's class.

This is so very shocking to me. Randall, her wonderful husband, found my number and called me this morning and I did not want to believe it. When I spoke to Carolyn last, she was in love, as most of you know, with her turtle and had begun writing a book. She always said she would write a book.

She was a good friend; although I did not see her every week, or call, but we called one another when we needed to talk. But, she never, never told me about her struggles with cancer. I guess she knew me better than I thought.

Randall, thank you for being a wonderful husband to my friend, because I know she was a wonderful wife. Tiombe, you and your mom used to rescue me because I would lock myself out of my car when we did the five-mile walk. Atiim, she was just proud of you and Tiombre and her grandchildren, her family and the turtle.

I miss her already! She was my "go to person" on so many occasions. She seemed to adopt me as her little sister and protected me, as I know she is moreso now.

What a wonderful mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend.

To my friend, from her friend, Carolyn I am missing you!

To Randall, Atiim, Tiombe/husband, grandchildren, and all of the family of Carolyn, my prayers and condolences go out to each of you during the PROMOTION to Glory of Carolyn. Please note that earth has no sorrow/pain that God can not heal or comfort during this difficult time that you are experiencing. God blessed Carolyn and I to become friends over twenty years ago, which that bond of sisterhood did not diminish even though we did not speak often. Carolyn displayed God's agape to everyone that she encountered and she had a gift of encouragement. Carolyn always triumph through challenges time; however, because our Creator knew that she had fulfilled her assignment here on earth it was time for her to come home. Rest in Paradise, my dear friend/sister, because this is not good bye, but a farewell saying that I will see you later as we walk the streets of gold chatting about our family and the good times. John 14 -1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
