Click here to view the video http://videos.lifetributes.com/592124 Dan Eldon Minirth, age 72 of Manila, died Wednesday April 29, 2015 at his home. A lifelong Manila resident, Dan was the son of the late Dan Adam and Pearl Smith Minirth, was a 1961 graduate of Manila High School, and served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1960-1968. He was a data processor for Arkansas Power and Light and worked 15 years for Southworth in Manila before his retirement in 2006. Dan was a longtime member and Deacon at the Westside Baptist Church in Manila. He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting and fishing with his grandson, Adam. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in local sporting events. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shirley Clements Minirth of Manila 1 son, Jason Daniel Minirth of Manila 2 daughters: Danna Rene Mattingly and her husband, Michael, of Manila Lorie Dawn Crook and her husband, Chris, of Manila 1 sister, Norma Roann Henry of Manila He also leaves 5 grandchildren; Adam Daniel Blocker, Erica Danielle Minirth, Brayden Mattingly, Collin Crook, and Courtney Crook, and 1 great-grandson, Landen Blocker. Funeral service will be 11am Saturday May 2, 2015 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jeff Dial and Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Steve Shelton, Eugene Dobbins, Charles Quinn, Frank Kirby, Greg Hawkins, and Chad Shelton.
