Mr Edward Leon Dorotik Sr

Edward Leon Dorotik, Sr. of El Campo, passed away on July 29, 2013. He was born on March 10, 1928 in Wharton County. Edward served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a parts manager for Rioux Farm Equipment for many years before retiring. He also served as secretary of KJT for many years and was active in the American Legion. Edward was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Bernice Hlavaty Dorotik, brother Daniel Dorotik, sister Leona Orsak and parents Joseph and Vera Plandor Dorotik. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Nemec and husband Vince of Midfield, Edward Dorotik, Jr. of Austin, Mary Richards and husband Jeff of Franklinton, North Carolina, grandchildren Airman First Class Stephanie Soares and husband Jon, Thomas Nemec, Chad and Donald Yates, sister-in-law Marianne Dorotik, brother-in-law Jerome Hlavaty, and nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Thursday at 1 pm at Triska Funeral Home with the family receiving visitors from 5 pm until 7 pm. Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 1:30 pm at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Albert Yankey officiating. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Memorial Park with Military Honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 251. Pallbearers are Stephanie and Jon Soares, Thomas Nemec, Donald and Chad Yates, Robert and Leonard Leopold, Joseph Kalas and Ronnie Orsak.
