Sister Canelo was born on January 20, 1927 and passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Sister Canelo was a resident of California at the time of passing. She earned a B.S. degree in Education from the University of San Francisco and had a California Lifetime Credential. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for her at the Presentation Motherhouse on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. Memorial contributions to the Sisters of the Presentation are preferred and can be sent to Sisters of the Presentation, Development Office, 281 Masonic Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94118. Sr. Eileen will always hold a special place in my heart. She modeled to me the attributes of patience, perseverance, and piety. Attributes a young teacher, as myself, at the time, should develop. She had a strength and gentleness about her that was reflected in her ability to instruct clear, classroom basics as well as joyful liturgical music. These tools were to become very useful to me as I continued my own teaching and catechetical career.
I am so grateful.

Sister Eileen taught my three girls at Epiphany and was a wonderful educator who touched their lives in many positive ways. She will be missed and I'm grateful for her dedication to the children of Epiphany.
