Elizabeth Berseth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 16, 2018.
WELLFLEET - Elizabeth Slack Berseth was born on April 18, 1936 in Milton, MA to Chester Slack and Elfleda Brown. She grew up in Brewster, MA before going away and first graduating from the Lincoln School in 1953 and then from Wheaton College in 1957. She immediately began her working life in New York City, a place she loved and took advantage of for its music and theater for over 40 years. She first worked in advertising and publishing but for the bulk of her working life she was in the field of the arts, working for organizations including Meet the Composer, Mutable Music and the Tricia Brown Dance Company. She married John Berseth (of Brooklyn, who died in 2016) in 1961 and they lived and raised their two daughters primarily in New York City before retiring to Wellfleet, MA 2001. Her immediate family includes her children Kate and Susan Berseth and their husbands, Steven McNulty and Jon Lupfer respectively, her grandchildren Eliza and Sam McNulty and her sister and brother-in law, Susan and Grant Rudnicki and their children, Anna and Ivan. She also leaves behind a wide group of friends and additional family, young and old who powerfully appreciated the warmth and patience with which she accepted, nurtured and entertained so many of them over a lifetime in both NYC and on Cape Cod. She died on December 16 in Cambridge, MA of complications from amyloidosis.
