Evelyn Del Rosario Mendez Rodriguez

Evelyn Del Rosario Mendez Rodriguez, 62, of Caracas, Venezuela, died peacefully in her sleep on November, 8, 2016, surrounded by her family, in Richmond, Texas. Born, August 22, 1954, in Caracas, Venezuela, she is predeceased by her father, Arnaldo Mendez and mother, Carmen Rodriguez. Evelyn a.k.a. (Ayeya), as her grandchildren would call her, attended school to obtain an Education degree, a few months in she wanted to pursue a Law degree. However, she eventually had to put that dream aside and started working as a secretary through her 20's. In her 40's after having spent some years as a stay at home mom taking care of her three children, she started working at P&G and still wanted to fulfill that dream she once had to put aside so she enrolled back in school and in 2002 she finally earned her Business Administration Technical Degree. She finally retired from P&G in 2009 after approximately 15 years of service. Once in retirement, she spent most of her years traveling to the U.S. where two of her children reside. She enjoyed watching tv shows such as CSI, Criminal Minds and Game of Thrones. Ayeya enjoyed traveling between Venezuela and the U.S. to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Lucelyn Serafini, Luciano Serafini, Evelyn Osio, her grandchildren, Raymond David, Augusto, Roman, Alessandra, and Emiliana. Her brothers and sisters, from Richmond, Texas, Costa Rica,Trinidad and Venezuela. Evelyn also has nieces and nephews, extended family, all over the world. A Celebration of Life will be held at Union Houston in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Society or to Union Houston. ***The family has requested that PURPLE accents be worn to raise Pancreatic Cancer awareness***
