Frederick Polenica Obituary

Published by Central Chapel Funeral & Cremation Southwest on Apr. 3, 2017.
Frederick John Polenica, 60, passed away suddenly on April 3, 2017. Beloved husband and soulmate of Rose ("Rossi") Polenica. Devoted father of Michael (Karen) Polenica, Hope Polenica, and Cristina Polenica. Loving, kind, and caring uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. Fred was a skilled union professional painter and previously worked for Professional Decorating-he always remembered his time with coworkers fondly. Fred loved the freedom and solitude of driving on the open road, plotting his road trips out on paper maps and stopping in little towns along the way for a hot cup of coffee. He loved coming back home just as much, to tell us about his new experiences. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing stories and his sense of humor. Always generous with his time and attention and incredibly kind, Fred made friends easily. His laugh was infectious and you felt good just being around him. His sudden passing has left us brokenhearted and in shocked disbelief. Fred was the best husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend you could ever ask for. We will miss you so much. Big Hug. Preceded in death by his daughter, Scarlett; his big sister, Melanie; his parents, Lawrence and Mary; his parents by marriage, Jose and Emma Garcia; and his sister by marriage, Guadalupe Garcia. Services at CENTRAL CHAPEL, 6158 S. Central Ave., Chicago, where family and friends will gather on Friday, April 7, from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m., followed by cremation.
