G. Keith Drissell Obituary

Gary Keith Drissell, age 66, passed away on December 4, 2009 in San Francisco, CA, from kidney disease and heart failure. He was born May 23, 1943 to Keith T. and Bethel White Drissell in Payson, Utah. After graduating from Payson High School, he continued his education at University of Utah where he received a degree in accounting, as well as an MBA. His first job after college was with Price Waterhouse in New York City. He became a certified public accountant (CPA) after two years with the firm and then worked for International Paper for several years before accepting a job with Clorox and moving to San Francisco. After working as a financial executive for almost thirty years, he purchased and operated his own business until his health declined and he had to retire. He married Jean Pope in New York City on August 31, 1968, and they had one daughter, Jennifer Rae. They were later divorced. Keith was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed his various callings, some of which included teaching in the Elders' Quorum, being a dedicated home teacher, working with the young single adults as a member of the bishopric, and being on the Stake High Council. Keith is survived by daughter, Jennifer, San Francisco, CA; grandson, Gabriel; sisters: Kayleen Drissell, Denver, CO, and Jan (DeWight) Apgood, Salt Lake City, UT; Nieces: Kameron (Scott) Abbott and Taryn Apgood; Nephew: Clint (Dominique) Apgood; Great Nephew: Preston Abbott. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jeffrey. A viewing will be held in San Francisco on Tuesday, Dec.8, 2009 from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Evergreen Mortuary, McAvoy O'Hara Co, 4545 Geary Blvd. Funeral services will be held in Payson, Utah on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:45 – 10:45 A.M. preceding the service. Interment, Payson City Cemetery.
