Dr. George Thomas “Tom� Fabian, U.S.A.F. (Ret.), 64 years, August 11, 2011. Born April 6, 1947, in Charleston, to the late George Beauregard and Mary Ella Walsh Fabian, he was married May 17, 1969, to Bettie Gay Leach of Greenville. He was educated at Clemson University, University of Tennessee, Medical University of South Carolina and University of Texas. He served in the U.S.A.F. 1969 – 1996. Since 1997 he has worked for S.C.D.H.E.C., currently as Medical Director, Public Health Preparedness, Acute Disease Epidemiology/Bioterrorism. He was a deacon at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, an avid Clemson fan and IPTAY member. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Mary Anne Fabian of Liberty; son, George Thomas, Jr. “Thom� and his wife, Summer, of Indianapolis; dear friend, Suzanne G. O’Dell, “The Other One� of Central; and brother-in-law, J. C. Owens of Goose Creek . He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Claire Fabian Owens. Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Burial with full honors will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414. Memorials may be made to Riverland Hills Baptist Church Missions Fund, www.riverlandhills.org., The Mount Church Missions Fund, www.themountchurch.com. , or SCOA Cares Foundation, PO Box 2046, West Columbia, SC 29171 or www.scoacares.org.
