Gilbert Van Jones

Gilbert Van Jones was born July 6, 1953, to the late Warren and Myrtle Crockson Jones. Gill as he was affectionately called, leaves to cherish his loving son Gabriel Jones and fiancé Tineka Reid of Aberdeen, MD, sister Cynthia Taylor, Mitchellsville, MD and brother Gregory Jones and wife Nancy, Belcamp, MD. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He had a love for all sports especially basketball and playing for the Aberdeen Eagles all through high school, graduating in 1971. Gil retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground working with the Department of Public Works for over 20 years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Jones. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 31 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm with a funeral service conducted by Pastor Granderson Jones, Jr. beginning at 2pm at the family owned Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, PA, 333 S.
