Giuseppe Sollo

Giuseppe Sollo, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his residence. Born in Naples, Italy, Giuseppe immigrated to the United States 45 years ago. He is a former resident of Newark and Belleville and had resided in Toms River since 2002. Mr. Sollo worked for the Diocese of Newark, Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington for thirty years, retiring in 1994. Giuseppe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Addolorata Caputo Sollo, in 2004; and sister Filomena Montesano. Surviving are his loving daughter, Anna Sollo Ascensao and husband, Victor of Belleville; his two loving sons, Antonio Sollo and wife, Florence of Bridgewater and Frank Sollo and wife, Marina of Stewartsville; his four cherished grandchildren, Michael Russo and Felecia, Anthony, and Marissa Sollo; his dear sister, Raffaelina Cipolletta, of Italy; and many nieces and nephews in Italy. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:00 AM on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 followed by a Funeral Liturgy at St. Lucy R. C. Church, 118 7th Ave., Newark. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Viewing hours are Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 4 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
