Hattie V. Easterla, age 98, of Lakeside Meadows, Osage Beach, MO, passed away on Friday evening, November 25, 2011.' She was born on a farm in Bates County, near Butler, MO, on February 7, 1913, the youngest of nine children of Jacob S. and Mary (Wehnes) Wolf. Hattie spent her early life in Kansas City, MO, graduating from East High School in 1929.' She met and married David E. (Gene) Easterla on October 9, 1933.' They moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1948 where they built and operated Gentle Slopes Resort on the Millcreek Arm for 25 years.' In 1972 they moved to Salida, CO for 6 ' years, coming back to the lake area in 1978 where they bought property at Edith (Macks Creek) by Tunnel Dam and lived there until they built their new home in 1999 at Ozark Meadows in Osage Beach, MO. Hattie professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at the early age of 10 years and continued to be active in her churches throughout her life.' Hattie's parents are deceased as well as all her brothers and sisters.' After 72 ' years, her life's love, Gene, passed away on June 30, 2006. Survivor's include:' Her son, David A. Easterla and wife Debbie of Maryville, MO.' Their family; grandsons, David James Easterla (Lori) and Todd Easterla (Lisa) and great grandchildren, Tanner and Tayla, all of Sacramento, CA.' Her son, Richard A. Easterla and wife Debbie of Lake Ozark, MO.' Their family; granddaughter, Dawn Atchley and husband Les and great grandchildren, Mikala, Keeli, and Nate, all of Chouteau, OK and granddaughter, Tiffany Reynolds (Levi) and great granddaughters, Jade, Devin and Bella, all of Lake Ozark, MO.' Hattie also has many dear nieces, nephews, friends and church family that survive her and were a very important part of her life. Hattie lived for commitment to Christ, her family and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 2, 2011, at Graceland New Testament Church, Camdenton, MO.' Visitation will be from Noon-1:00 p.m. with services immediately following at 1:00 p.m.' Jeff Hon and Bob King will officiate.' Interment will be in the Kidwell-Garber Cemetery, Laurie, MO, following the services. Memorial contributions are suggested to Graceland New Testament Church or New Tribes.
