Hazel Houting

Hazel Houting, age 90, of Holland, passed away April 25, 2015 in the Inn at Freedom Village. Hazel was the daughter of Henry and Effie Klinge and a lifelong member of Pillar Christian Reformed Church. She began her working career during High School working co-op as a secretary for the HL Friedlen Company where she remained for many years. She was also a familiar face on the campus of Hope College, working in the Dewitt Center Kletz for close to 20 years. But she is remembered most as a loving mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Houting an sisters, Julia Bouws and Fern Brinks. Hazel is survived by her children, Glen Houting of Holland, Jane and Tom Klomparens of West Olive; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Klomparens and Andrew Klomparens; sister, Lois and Harvey Jacobs of Holland; brother-in-law, Ed Houting of Arizona; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland with Rev. Dick Stravers officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. www.langelandsterenberg.com.
