Hershel Ray Binam

Hershel Ray Binam, 90, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the North Hills Rehab in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born on February 11, 1926 in Possum Trot Creek, Arkansas, a son of Thomas Ray Binam and Rinza (Slape) Binam. He married Dollie Mae Cater on April 15, 1952 in Harrison, Arkansas. He was a member of Oak Grove Church and Friendship Baptist Church and retired from Tyson Foods, Inc. He was preceded in death by his wife Dollie Mae Binam; son in-law, Dennis Griffith; a great grandchild, Hunter Ray Ross; five brothers, Bill Slape, Melvin Binam, Mainisford Binam, Marvin Binam and Orville Binam; and one sister, Jenave Sims. Hershel is survived by one son, Charles Binam and wife Bonnie; one daughter, Peggy Griffith; four grandchildren, Arlene Lipp, Dean Capps, Alicha Ross and Ashley Griffith; 10 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Johnson. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Martin will officiate the service.
