Dear Joanie Girl, I am just now hearing of the passing of "Jan the Man". I had the pleasure of working with him for many years in clinic. Prayers to you and the family. What a shock, even tho I am months behind hearing about this.

Dear Joanie and family... I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jan's passing. He was always good for a laugh or a bit of sarcasm to break the tensions of the day. He was a caring and compassionate practitioner and his patients adored him. I have fond memories of working with both of you. I hope your memories of him carry you through this very sad time until you meet again. God bless you.

My deepest sympathy to Joan and all of Jan's family. I worked with Jan for many years, and always enjoyed talking with him. He always had great stories to tell and spoke so fondly of his family. He was a wonderful practitioner, and I truly miss working with him.

I was sorry to hear of Jan's sudden passing. Jan was a great colleague, teacher and co worker. We shared an office at work and Jan would find treasures that he would bring back to the office and fix a clock, a chair or wall decoration and give it a new life ... and a new home. Just as he found value in those items, so he deeply treasured his family, friends and patients in his conversations and interactions. Joanie would stop by at the end of the day to pick Jan up to go home. There was always a story to share and laughter a nice way to end the work day. To Joanie and the Steinel Family, may the memories of Jan bring a smile to your face and warmth in your heart.

It was a pleasure to have known and worked with Jan. He was among the first to welcome me to the Pulmonary Division at MetroHealth and never failed to check in with me and ask how things were going. He loved sharing about his family and all the great things happening in their lives. We miss him greatly. Our prayers are with his family.

Jan and I were good friends in grade school (St. Therese), high school (Holy Name) and college (Kent State). I have many fond memories of him, like double-dating with him to our HS prom. And performing with him in Brigadoon, where he had the lead. After high school we even continued our thespian pursuits with a couple of musicals (Carnival and Superman) in downtown Cleveland at the old Showboat Theater.
May our Lord and Savior Jesus take you to your home with Him. All God's blessings to your family and loved ones.
