The feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable when coping with the loss of a dear loved one. May you find strength and hope from the Inspired Word at Psalm 147:3.

Not only did I lose my special Aunt Jean but I also lost my most precious and dear friend.

There are so many memories that I would love to share that maybe the family have not heard but reflect what a unique and truly special person that Jean was.

When we were little Aunt Jean took my sisters and me to see "The Wizard of OZ"...that green witch really scared me and I was crying...The usher came down and told Jean if I didn't stop crying we would have to leave. We didn't leave...but I still don't like "The Wizard of Oz".

I know that I shared with Jean how proud I was of her when she was serving in the Army. I thought she was the most beautiful person when I would see her in the WAAC/WAC uniform. My buttons of pride simply popped!!!

In my early adult life I decided to teach myself to knit and made a neck scarf for my Dad, Jean's brother. I was so proud of it and when I showed it to Jean she commented that it was lovely...but it had holes in it...I was not happy about that as she was such an excellent knitter. Well, lo and behold, I went back and looked at the instructions again...and, of course, Jean was right...I was picking up the yarn wrong.

Jean was very detailed and many people never realized that if you received any correspondence from her for an anniversary, birthday, baby, get well...she would match the stamp to fit the occasion... That was just Jean.

Dick and I were blessed to get to know Bob and Jean as friends (not just Aunt and Uncle) when we lived in Des Moines. They were such a loving couple and Jean really became my mentor.

She stayed so active and independent and I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I am going to miss her something fierce.

But I find comfort in my many memories and know she is in a better place and at peace.

My you be comforted by your precious memories of your Mother, Grandmother, and Great grandmother. Some of those Great Grandkids will need to hear stories....

GOD BLESS YOU ALL...
